Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet has helped save his elderly mother Richard Branson from a fire that destroyed his house in the Caribbean.
Virgin Group boss said in his blog about offering a "big thank you to Kate Winslet, has helped to make my 90 years (old) mother out from the main building for safety." He joked that Winslet, "I wondered, when the director was about to yell" CUT! "
In a separate announcement Tuesday, Branson boasted Winslet has two children, 10 years, Mia, and 7 years, Joe, who were also staying in the house when it caught fire. He called them "two brave guys that I've ever met."
Branson said he was in another property about 100 meters (yards) away from his wife, Joan, and son Sam, 25 said that Sam found in the main building on fire and ran to make sure that all Guests had been out. Branson also said that he jumped out of bed and ran to help.
Branson, 60, bought the island in 1980 and began construction of the Casa Grande in 1982. He also developed an exclusive eco-resort on the island to introduce renewable energy technology.
His daughter, Holly, who was in the house with Winslet, was married in December. Branson has said that marriage is still considered Necker Island, and said, guests can camp on the beach if the house was not renewed in time.
Winslet, 35, shot to international fame with her appearance alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in James Cameron's "Titanic" and sealed his reputation with a best actress Oscar in 2009 for "The Reader".
Winslet's spokesman, Sara Keene, confirmed the actor was on the island and was unharmed. Winslet said he had no comment.
